What
is CHAMPS?
The Customer Homebase
for Aftermarket Programs System is a "point and click" friendly
system designed to replace two systems:
 |
 |
 |
Paper
based Revenue reporting for hourly maintenance programs |
| |
 |
|
Claim
System on GAIN or paper |
How does this new system affect operators of equipment covered on maintenance
programs?
The benefits
of CHAMPS online are:
 |
 |
 |
Access
to online reporting and payment--no need to locate paper invoice |
| |
 |
|
Online
data provides information required to process invoice and payment--no
need to locate information from the previous month |
| |
 |
|
CHAMPS
is an interactive system and will share data with Honeywell--as the
operator reports usage, data is sent to CHAMPS. CHAMPS performs calculation
and invoice amount due |
| |
 |
|
Operators
will no longer need to supply a copy of paper invoice to Honeywell |
| |
 |
|
CHAMPS
is an upgrade from current Internet application through E-Engines,
and allows for credit card payment and fleet reporting |
| |
 |
|
Access
to product and program information |
| |
 |
|
Links
to other sites within Honeywell (ex: E-Engine) |
| |
 |
|
Operators
can review contract/account details |
| |
 |
|
Operators
can review yearly rate information as it becomes available |
Honeywell currently
offers a choice for reporting usage--for those operators who do not have
Internet capability, we can supply hardcopy invoices.
Future phases are
planned to include self-directed activities (such as contract renewal
and transfer)
How does the new system affect service providers?
The new system allows
Internet access to:
 |
 |
 |
File
claims |
| |
 |
|
Create
Service Authorizations |
| |
 |
|
Determine
coverage for Aftermarket Programs including MSP, Warranty, Power by
the Hour and Special Programs |
| |
 |
|
Review
product information |
How does the new
system affect Honeywell employees?
Honeywell employees
are acquiring a state-of-the-art system, which provides flexibility to
accommodate future business needs. CHAMPS is designed to:
 |
 |
 |
Automate
manual processes |
| |
 |
|
Store
detailed information regarding Aftermarket programs--eliminate guesswork/human
memory of processes and programs |
| |
 |
|
Allow
for tip-to-tail contract administration/invoicing/claim processing
for all products covered under a maintenance program |
What happens to the Claim System on GAIN?
On the day the CHAMPS
system "goes live", the claim system on GAIN will be
available for Claim Entry only. All other GAIN screens will remain
the same. A service provider will be able to enter a claim and "send"
it to Honeywell. Claim audit, history and service authorizations will
only be available on the CHAMPS system. In order to save costs and prevent
confusion, we have chosen not to maintain both systems in their full compliment.
We understand that some facilities may initially have problems with a
new system. So that these facilities can maintain their billing cycles,
we offer only the Claim Entry on GAIN. If a facility enters a claim on
GAIN after CHAMPS is in operation, the claim will be electronically transferred
to CHAMPS, audited and processed. The process should be transparent to
you, as you will receive an acknowledgement in the mail as usual. The
positive aspect of this is that you will still have the ability to bill
Aftermarket Programs for appropriate charges. The drawback to continual
use of the Claim System in GAIN is that you will be unable to perform
many of the activities that you had done in the past such as creating
Service Authorizations, verifying MSP coverage and checking claim status.
Those functions will have moved to CHAMPS.

What training is available for operators?
Simulations available
on Training tab on web to facilitate online reporting
What training is available for service providers?
There are several
ways a service provider can obtain CHAMPS training.
** NOTE: A
pre-requisite for all training is completion of a "Navigational Exercise"
available on compact disc. This brief exercise will allow the student
to become familiar with the point and click features of the new system.
It is important that a student complete the navigational exercises in
order to be more productive on the CBT. The computer-based training will
assume that you have had some experience in navigation. So that the CBT
is most effective for you, we urge you to take advantage of this preview.
For those that have signed up for training in Geneva or Phoenix, the disc
will be sent to you a few weeks before the class.
What does the system offer for parts pricing and availability?
The CHAMPS system
does not replace your normal channels for price quotes and availability
when purchasing or requiring status on parts. When you are filing a claim,
CHAMPS has a feature called "PRICE ME" that you can use to let
the system perform the pricing of the claim. This feature will be reviewed
extensively during training.
Can reports be obtained through the system?
A customer may browse
the screens for information that can be sorted and analyzed. For example,
there is a view called "My Claims" that lists information about
your claim history. This view can be sorted so that an analysis can be
preformed on the appropriate information. A traditional reporting system
that allows the user to enter some parameters and print a hard copy report
will not be available in Phase 1.
How does the claim numbering system work? Do
we still use the "sticky" numbers?
There are three ways
to generate a number for a claim:
My screens load
very slowly. Is there a way to speed them up?
Yes. If you are an
Internet Explorer user, follow these simple steps:
First step would be
to check and correct their HTTP settings. To get to the
settings, select from tool bar Tools, Internet Options, select advance
tab,
scroll bar down to HTTP and make sure they have both boxes checked, then
Apply and OK.
